Hanan Muse who has been with NAWE organization since September 2016 had shown potential in leading our youth. Her interests and knowledge in issues like race, ethnicity and economics made her the ideal candidate for this call. We all encouraged her to apply for the position. We therefore were not surprised when she received the call to be part of the Youth Advisory Board. We congratulate her in this success.
When the Syracuse Common Council called on Students in the Syracuse City School District to apply for the position of Youth Advisors, we sat down as a team and put our heads together to nominate our very best to apply.
For us she stands as a representation in spaces that we have never been represented in before. She is a voice for our community, she is a voice for our girls. We will continue to encourage our girls to take this kinds of opportunity towards leadership roles. This is just the beginning of the many wonderful things that we foresee for our girls.
